From its
more than 20 years of experience, SED continues to support the Earth
Observation activities in numerous fields, including satellite data
utilization estimation, feasibility study, research and development
of onboard sensors, installation - operation - maintenance of Ground
Data Processing Systems (Post Launch), related system evaluation,
satellite data distribution, study of observation data utilization,
and production of Multi-Media and Internet/Web contents. |

Ever since
its foundation, SED has contributed significantly to the aerospace
development activities ranging from conceptual study through flight
analysis to structural analysis. SED has participated in the development
and operation of the Range Safety Systems that has been utilized
for every Japanese launch since the successful launch of the N-I
rocket in 1975. |

SED has
been a contributor to the International Space Station (ISS) program
since its initial stages.
Once the ISS construction is completed, the lengthy ISS operational
phase for the ISS will then commence.
From a technical prespective, through its contribution to the ISS
preparations and operations, SED will continue to contribute to
Japan's space development activities. |

With its
vast experience in satellite tracking and control operations, SED
is a leading contributor to Japan's satellite and control operation
field. The tracking operation activities include, satellite data
acquisition and tracking, while the control operation activities
include, satellite operation planning and control.
SED monitors different types of satellites on a 24-hour 365-day
basis. SED supports JAXA, at JAXA's main tracking center at Tsukuba,
as well as, at three tracking and control stations in Katsuura,
Masuda, and Okinawa. During the satellite launch preparation phases,
SED provide support for Tracking and Control system design activities,
which is one of SED's system engineering activities. |

SED provides
support and development services for most of the information systems
utilized for Japan's Earth Observation projects, rocket launch
operations, International Space Station program, and satellite
tracking and control operations. SED also provides system integration
services for private, government, and public organization's system
development projects. |
